About Us

Brunswick Reupholstering Co. is a family-owned business located in Mid-coast Maine. It was established in 1959 by my father, James Connolly, who with the help of my mother and siblings, reupholstered furniture of all kinds for Maine customers. At an early age, I showed an appreciation and passion for sewing, and at the age of 16, I sold my first hand-crafted item.

Brunswick Reupholstering Co. closed its doors in 1989 and I embarked in a long career at LLBean that took me all over the world. I still had a strong tie to textiles, and continued to sew and reupholster, hoping that some day I would have the opportunity to resurrect my father’s business. That opportunity came in 2009, I reopened the doors, and for the past 11 years I’ve been doing just that.

In addition to reupholstering, I also made decorative pillow and cushions. Now, having retired from reupholstering furniture, I’m putting all my efforts into cleverly designed and crafted accessory items.

The Casco Bay Chart Pillow was chosen as the premier product mainly because of the location of my studio at the end of a small peninsular in Maine, Mere Point. From the studio, I can see both Middle Bay and Maquoit Bay.

My Mission and Philosophy is and has always been: Provide hand-crafted items using high quality materials with a commitment to my customers – that’s what I’m all about.
